Our Philosophy

"I think we have been able to truly understand the foundations of health and meld them into an approach that provides great clinical results. Although the ideas are quite simple, obtaining long lasting results takes time and lifestyle change. If you can see that all dis-ease starts where the body stops moving, you can then take the appropriate steps to get movement back. I think we have an excellent approach to find these areas in the body and thorough clinical skills to remove these obstacles. "

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic care is a natural healing art that helps restore the body to better health and vitality.

The goal of chiropractic is to optimize health with a non-invasive approach. Chiropractors focus on disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous system with the primary avenue of treatment being manipulation of the spine and other joints. Taking care of the spine and nervous system in this the way optimizes the health of the whole body.

Patients at The Chiropractic Associates receive a thorough consultation, history, and examination and a treatment plan is created.

Benefits of chiropractic care include:

  • Reduction of pain

  • Increased range of motion

  • Improved athletic performance

  • Increased vitality

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health.  Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.

Doctors of Chiropractic practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment.

The most common therapeutic procedure performed by doctors of chiropractic is known as “spinal manipulation,” also called “chiropractic adjustment.”  The purpose of manipulation is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become hypomobile – or restricted in their movement – as a result of a tissue injury. Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as improper lifting of a heavy object, or through repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position with poor spinal posture for an extended period of time. In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function for the sufferer. Manipulation, or adjustment of the affected joint and tissues, restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal.  Our practitioners utilize a variety of techniques including manual adjusting,Thompson Drop, Upper Cervical, Activator, and Webster Breech Turning, to restore the body to balance. We educate patients on spinal care, proper nutrition, and trusting in the power of the body to heal. We are experts in chiropractic care for all ages including newborns, children, pregnant women, and geriatrics.

Nutrition

Nutrition has grown to become a significant part of our practice. Science has proven that poor nutrition places significant stress on the organs and glands of the body. This stress causes the body to exhibit pain, structural and hormonal imbalances, and “dis-ease”. Our designed clinical nutrition approach locates the weak areas of the body and strengthens them with a nutritional program tailored to your specific needs. Our focus is on improving dietary habits and providing supplements (whole food vitamins and minerals, herbs, and homeopathy) to achieve nutritional goals.
