Mela's 16 bean soup

This is a very traditional Nepali dish that is perfect for winter weather. 

1 bag 16 bean mix

1/2 onion, chopped

1 large tomato, diced

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp turmeric

2 tbsp olive oil

Soak beans in 3-4 cups of cold water overnight. In a large saucepan, combine beans and remaining ingredients with 4-5 cups of water. Let it boil and allow to simmer until beans are tender. Serve with rice or naan.
